Achieving
More Together

Self-awareness

Kanjertraining

At school, children are part of a group, which requires social skills and the capacity to adapt. We teach children to think positively about themselves and others and to solve problems on their own. We practice this during ‘Kanjertraining’ classes.

Learning through discovery

Science and technology

Children are naturally inquisitive and excited by new discoveries. We consider it important to fully integrate science and technology into our educational approach and introduce children to ICT. In our XperiO ontdeklab, they develop their skills in these areas and playfully engage with ICT.

Durable togetherness

Learning through cooperation

Working together is a skill that needs to be learned. By having children work together on assignments, we teach them two basic principles: collectively, you can sometimes achieve more and obtain better results than you can when working alone. Collaboration contributes to the development of every child, both mentally and socially.

Our School

School plays a crucial role in your child’s development. Throughout this period, you’re entrusting your child to your school of choice: a Christian school with an excellent atmosphere and a learning environment that suits you and your child.

At Vlinderboom, we take the talents and potential of every child as our starting point. Science and technology are an essential aspect of our educational approach and children are familiarised with this in the XperiO ontdeklab (discovery lab). We adapt tuition to the learning needs of each individual child. As a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly that takes flight, Vlinderboom helps your child become an individual who makes independent choices, discovers opportunities and creates new possibilities. Mila (4) wants to live on Mars

And her teacher can come with her. For at our Octant school, Mila learns about working together with others and technology. She grows up to be a self-aware person who dares to make decisions, so she will opt for living in Madrid instead of Mars.

Vlinderboom is part of Octant

Octant operates eight Christian schools in nine locations. Octant schools are characterized by their endless striving towards growth. We focus on growth through quality improvement every day. Staff regularly attend school themselves: our own academy, at which teachers and staff receive training that helps them become even better at their tasks, is just one way in which we realise our ambitions. We improve quality by constantly adapting our teaching to today’s society. We place an emphasis on science and technology. Three core values provide the bedrock for all our efforts: 'Self-awareness', 'Learning through discovery' and 'Durable togetherness’.
